For Saturday,  two titles were supposed to be on the line, UFC flyweight and the female bantamweight.

UFC 215’s main event was to belong to Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson vs. Ray “The Tazmexican Devil” Borg.  But Borg had to pull out due to illness, voiding for the moment Johnson's chance to become the longest reigning UFC champion in history, surpassing Anderson Silva.

Borg had promised a  rematch to Johnson if he somehow beat the odds and got a win. But itwon't happen now. The main event defaults to Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko for the bantamweight title.

This isn’t the first time the two meet in the octagon. Previously Nunes and Shevchenko went head to head and Nunes earned the win, but by close call.  Originally, the two were scheduled to fight in UFC 213 but Nunes pulled out last minute due to health reasons.

When the two fought in the octagon, Nunes dominated the first half, but Shevchenko came back vigorously in the second half with an impressive rally, but that rally fell short. Nunes would beat Shevchenko by points.

Nunes has no hard feelings towards UFC president Dana White for not giving her the main event slot to begin with.

“Whether it be the main event, or the first fight of the card, I will fight the same." Nunes said. But it will be a difficult match for her.

Shevchenko feels that she has what it takes to beat Nunes. She has an extensive muay thai background, and with her precise attention to details, she can easily ruffle Nunes’s feather in the octagon.  With her strong mental game and laser eye focus, this second meeting between the two boss women will be another brawl.

“When I received this notice, I was upset,” Shevchenko said when she heard about not seeing Nunes in 213. “I rested a little bit, I put my mind together and continued my training and preparation.”

Nunes made it a known fact that she wanted this, and assured her fans she wasn't duckng her rival. “I want to fight Valentina,” Nunes said, “She’s the number one contender in this division."

Nunes wants to give not only the world, but also Shevchenko a fight where she’s 100 percent.
