Zamora's Cactus Bowl

By Jose Romero - Dec 29, 2016

We at The Sporting Nation have made the Cactus Bowl (formerly the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl and Insight Bowl) an annual tradtion, and Tuesday was no execption.

Baylor beat Boise State 31-12 in a game that ended just before midnight.

We met a Baylor wide receiver named Ishmael Zamora, who caught the touchdown pass that sealed the Bears' win. Zamora is a tall guy from Houston (6-4) who had a good sophomore year.

Zamora started seven games, played in 10 including the Cactus Bowl, and caught eight touchdowns. He had 63 catches for 809 yards on the season, most certainly one of Baylor's major contributors on offense.

The Bears were too much for the Broncos on this night in Phoenix, though Boise State had more fans in the Chase Field stands.

Baylor, as seen in the video, got to celebrate. And we figure Zamora is going to be around next year to help Baylor continue its winning ways.
