If you are like me, you’ve started to see the ads for Extreme Endurance popping up on your Instagram. I scrolled past the first few but then saw the phrase “faster recovery” and clicked.
This product is made by a company called Xendurance, a US-based company founded in 1998. There are many products offered by this company, but I was mainly interested in Extreme Endurance, which is a small white capsule containing zero banned ingredients. It is an all-natural, electrolyte mineral supplement and it’s certified ISO 17025 tested for banned substances.
So what’s in it?
✔️ Calcium Carbonate – Strengthens muscle, bone and heart function .
✔️ Papain – Anti-inflammatory that reduces muscle soreness after exercise.
✔️ Magnesium – Improves muscle function & may boost athletic performance.
✔️ Black Pepper Fruit – Powerful antioxidant that enriches nutrient absorption .
✔️ Selenium, Chromium & Potassium – Vital minerals for growth & recovery.
The supplements are created in controlled environments, only in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified and/or equivalent facilities. Dedication to these NSF/ANSI standards, ensure the product contains exactly the ingredients listed and nothing it shouldn’t.
The recommended dosage is to take 3 capsules in the morning and 3 at night but can fluctuate based on your training cycle and goals. I dug a bit deeper to learn about the product and found that Extreme Endurance has been tested in over a dozen, clinically tested and open label studies – Here are some of the findings.
1. 26% reduction in lactic acid in just 10 days = less muscle burn and tightness
2. 39% reduction in oxidative stress in just 10 days = less cell and tissue damage and supports anti-aging and recovery from stress and exercise
3. 63.55% reduction in CK (creatine kinase) levels = reduction of muscle pain and soreness plus quicker recovery time
4. 41% increase in Aerobic Threshold = longer endurance without using muscle glycogen
5. Increase in power wattage by 10% to 25% with the same heart rate.
6. Increase in VO2 max and power in just 2 weeks = better heart and lung function
7. Helps reduce inflammation and balance body alkalinity
8. Helps build and strengthen your body’s Immune defense system
I looked at the company’s YouTube page for reviews and found three experiences shared by fellow runners who have used Extreme Endurance.
Clayton Murphy – Bronze 800 M 2016
Andrew Neugebauer, former Pro Nike runner, 9 X All-American
Georganne Moline – 400m Olympian, 4 X 400 Gold medal
After tackling three marathons over the last three weeks and getting ready to enter training for Hyrox Chicago, I’m down for trying this product. I’ll be chronicling my experience with the supplement as I work toward a fast recovery and mega-training cycle to get ready for Hyrox on November 16th.
Also mixed in this cycle are a few half marathons and a full, so I am incredibly intrigued to see if this product can boost my performance through my training fatigue. Expect to see a story each week of how my training is going while incorporating Extreme Endurance into my lifestyle. And, check out the full line up of Hyrox here. Competition places are sold out, but you can join the waitlist and still plan to join as a spectator. The event is at Navy Pier and is an amazing exhibit of athletes, both local and nonlocal to Chicago. You can read our past coverage of Hyrox Chicago here and here.
