Chris Paul and Derrick Rose have only ever played each other a handful of times despite their lengthy careers and Paul has recently explained why he has so much respect for Rose.
“Me and D Rose, over our careers we’ve only played against each other a few times, Paul said on Point Forward. “I know that, I don’t even know if he knows that. It’s so crazy over the course of our careers when it was time for me to play against him, he might be hurt, or vice versa. It’s crazy it just worked out that way but when I was in Houston I got a chance to talk to him for a little bit and just told him how much I appreciate him as a hooper. Because I’ve had injuries over my career, I know how it affects you mentally, how it challenges you. Me and D Rose, I don’t know him like that, but I’m one of his biggest fans because I watch him hoop now and I just see it’s nothing like your body letting you do what you know you can do.”
CP3 has dealt with some crushing injuries throughout his 19 seasons in the league, but has still managed to find success and many consider Paul as one the greatest point guards to ever take the court.
Rose, however, suffered an awful run of injuries early, which pretty much derailed his whole career.
The now-15-year veteran won the MVP award in 2011 when he was just 22 years old, but the very next year he tore his ACL in the playoffs and missed the whole next season.
He came back in the 2013-14 season, only to tear his meniscus ten games into the season.
