Draymond Green and his increasingly violent streak is the fault of the ‘Malice at the Palace’ era Pistons, according to Rasheed Wallace.
Wallace, who was a member of those Pistons teams, explained his reasoning on the Gil’s Arena podcast.
“That’s our fault,” he said. “And when I say ‘our,’ that’s my fault, that’s Ben Wallace’s fault, that’s Chauncey [Billups’] fault, that’s Rip Hamilton’s fault, that’s Tayshaun [Prince’s] fault… Everybody in that locker room because he grew up in our locker room.
“One of his best friends was the son of the GM, so he was around us… That’s why he doing the bully shit he doing now, in my opinion. He caught all that s— in our locker room.”
Wallace’s comments came just a few weeks after Green put Rudy Gobert in a headlock and got himself suspended for five games in the process.
Green ranks second in NBA history for most ejections, with 19, trailing only Wallace, who holds the record at 29.
When questioned about Green potentially surpassing his record, Wallace enthusiastically responded, “Let’s gooooo!”
This season Green is averaging 10.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists over 12 games.
The Warriors are currently 11th in the Western Conference with a record of 9-11.
Golden State went 2-3 during Green’s suspension.
