When it comes to viral content, the PGA Champions Tour Twitter account may have struck gold with Korean golfer Ho Sung Choi. Many have dubbed him the most eccentric golfer in the world, making him a social media sensation. However, behind his flamboyant swing lies a highly skilled player.

Choi rose to fame around five years ago due to his unorthodox swing, which earned him the nickname ‘Fisherman’s Swing.’ While he continues to impress audiences with his unique technique, Choi is currently making headlines for qualifying for the final of the Champions Tour School.

The 72-hole tournament will take place from Thursday to Sunday at the TPC Scottsdale, home of the Phoenix Open. 78 players will compete, with only five earning their spot in a league where legends like Bernhard Langer, Fred Couples, John Daly, and Miguel Ángel Jiménez play.

Another interesting addition to the tournament is the presence of former baseball player John Smoltz. A cult pitcher in the MLB during the 90s and early 2000s, he won the World Series with the Braves in 1995, played for the Red Sox and Cardinals, earned eight All-Star titles, was named MVP of the National League in 1992, and won the Cy Young Award in 1996.

The Rules of Golf are a set of standard rules and procedures by which the sport of golf should be played. They are jointly written and administered by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body of golf throughout the world, outside of the United States and Mexico, which are the responsibility of the United States Golf Association.

An expert commission made up of members of the R&A and USGA oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision is effective January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding and those that in certain cases reduce penalties to ensure balance.

The rule book, entitled “Rules of Golf”, is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy it is up to Federgolf to supervise the competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and managing the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
