Former top 10 player Karen Khachanov notched his sixth career title on Saturday in Doha, Qatar, defeating Czech upstart Jakub Mensik 7-6(12), 6-4.
Needing one and 49 minutes to prevail, Khachanov hit nine aces, won 83 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on one occasions.
Improving his ranking to No. 15 on Monday, Khachanov next see action in Dubai, U.A.E.
Defeating top seed Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals, Andy Murray, Gael Monfils, and No. 5 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina earlier in the event, Mensik continued to show is class in Saturday’s final by slamming 16 aces.
Mensik, who continues to climb up the rankings, will be ranked No. 87 in the world Monday.

Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo—Mexico
Australian Jordan Thompson captured his maiden ATP Tour title on Saturday in Los Cabos, Mexico, defeating three-time former Major finalist Casper Ruud 6-3, 7-6(4).
In a match that lasted two hours and two minutes, Thompson used his consistent back-court play to offset his higher-ranked opponent.
Thompson needed three hours and 40 minutes to defeat top seed Alexander Zverev in the semifinals and two hours and 39 minutes to oust Alex Michelsen in the quarterfinals.
Visibly tired throughout Saturday’s final, Thompson had previously made the finals of ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands in 2019 and 2023.
Thompson will improve his ranking to No. 32 in the world on Monday and Ruud will move up to No. 11.
Ruud, who was looking to win his 11th career title in Los Cabos, ousted No. 2 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals.
