In a thrilling overtime showdown, the Charlotte Hornets (4-9) orchestrated a remarkable comeback, defeating the high-flying Boston Celtics (11-3) 121-118 on Monday night.

LaMelo Ball, with an outstanding performance of 36 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, led the Hornets to break a six-game home losing streak.

The Hornets faced a formidable opponent in the red-hot Celtics, who held an 18-point lead during the game.

Despite the odds, Miles Bridges, making his first NBA start in 586 days, delivered a crucial 3-pointer with 6.6 seconds left in overtime. This shot sealed the Hornets’ comeback victory, putting an end to Boston’s six-game winning streak.

Gordon Hayward contributed significantly with 20 points, providing valuable support to Ball.

Jayson Tatum’s remarkable 45-point effort for the Celtics couldn’t secure the win, as he missed a crucial free throw with 5.2 seconds left that would have tied the game.

Mark Williams’ double-double performance of 18 points and 16 rebounds also played a pivotal role for the Hornets.

The decision to start Bridges, replacing P.J. Washington, proved to be a strategic move by the Charlotte coaching staff, injecting much-needed energy into the team.

Peyton Pritchard’s 21 points, fueled by five 3-pointers, highlighted the Celtics’ offensive effort. However, Charlotte’s resilience and Ball’s stellar performance ultimately led to their victory.
