RCB vs KKR LIVE Score: Despite starting well, Bengaluru ended their innings at 182/6, largely due to the efforts of Virat Kohli, who scored 83 from 59 balls. In reply Narine and Salt slam a massive 85 runs in the powerplay.
A princely fight awaits at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium when the Royals take on the Knights on March 29. On one end, we have the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, led by Faf du Plessis, who are looking to continue their home dominance after tasting success against the Punjab Kings. The other contender, the Kolkata Knight Riders, snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in their season opener. With Shreyas Iyer and Gautam Gambhir returning to the side, nothing short of trophy glory is expected of them.
RCB need wicket
Another eight runs come in the over now and RCB are in need of a wicket here. That’s the only way they can win. It’s 112/2 after 10.
Iyer’s towering six
But despite the twin wickets, KKR are in the driver’s seat. Venkatesh Iyer gets a massive six as KKR reach 104/2 in 9 overs.
Another one perishes
And Vijaykumar Vyshak has done the trick here as KKR lose another one. This time Phil Salt departs for 30 from 20. KKR 92/2.
Wicket
Mayank Dagar has done the trick here. He yorks Sunil Narine for 47 from 22 balls here. KKR 86/1.
Powerplay ends!
Narine is now punishing the opposition. Yash Dayal is hit for a four and two sixes. Make it another four, through leg bye though. And the carnage ends at 85/0 in 6 overs.
11 runs again
Nothing seems to be going right for RCB at the moment, as once again 11 runs come from the over. KKR now move to 64/0 in 5 overs.
50 up
And inside the fourth over KKR have brought up their fifty and they are looking unstoppable at the moment. Another four comes in the over as KKR 53/0 after 4 overs.
Joseph starts
Narine too is batting well and RCB is in deep trouble. An excellent start here by the KKR openers on a slow pitch. When the ball gets old, scoring will get difficult. Makes it two sixes, as KKR 46/0 after 3 overs.
Yash Dayal now
Runs seem to be coming easy with the new ball as Dayal gives away five wides, followed by a four. It’s 32/0 after 2 overs.
Salt & Narine start
On a tough pitch it is Salt and Narine open the batting for KKR. And Salt starts with a massive six. Follows it up with a four as well. Make that another six to end the over. KKR 18/0 after 1.
Last over
Starc, once again is having a poor day. Kohli hits him for another six here. Then Karthik gets another one over mid-wicket. This is poor bowling by world’s most expensive bowler. And the innings ends with a run out. RCB 182/6.
Karthik comes in
DK is in and he starts with a six. He should have come in much earlier on this pitch. RCB 166/5 after 19 overs.
Moving at snail’s pace
Even Kohli is finding it tough to score boundaries now. And in the meantime, Rana removes Rawat for his second wicket. RCB 151/5.
Out
And now Patidar goes. This is not looking good for RCB at the moement as RCB 147/4.
7 runs
Starc comes back again and only seven runs come from the over, as KOhli gets a four on the last ball. It is 141/3 after 16 overs.
Kohli survives
There is confusion between KOhli and Patidar as the former makes it barely. RCB still under par at the moment with 134/3 in 15 overs.
Maxwell out
Finally he’s out. He skies a third ball and this time he is caught by Rinku Singh in the deep.
Another one
Maxwell is living dangerously. This time Narine has missed the catch. A six and four comes from that over as RCB move to 124/2 in 14 overs.
Ramandeep drops match?
Glenn Maxwell goes for a big one and doesn’t connect well. But Ramandeep Singh misses a rather simple-looking catch. All-in-all a solid over from Narine, as RCB109/2 in 13 overs.
A lull for RCB, KOHLI has 50
Only 5 runs come from three overs, but Kohli takes matter in his own hand and smashes Chakravarthy for a six. It’s a fifty for the man.
Who has the upper hand
At Chinnaswamy Stadium, one doesn’t really know what’s a safe total. At least 200 needed by RCB? Let’s see as it’s 86/2 in 10.3.
Kohli looks solid
By his own lofty standards, Kohli is going well at the moment. Green has another six here. And out of no where, the ball hits the stumps as Green is dismissed for 33. RCB 82/2.
50 partnership
And in no time Green and KOhli have brought up the 50-run partnership. And another six for the King. He has gone past Dhoni in most sixers in IPL list.
Anukul bowling well
Anukul comes up with another miserly over here. Once again gives away three runs as RCB move to 64/1.
Sunil Narine comes for a bowl
Runs are coming fine, but Kohli and Green are not running well together. But Green smashes two boundaries and a six. It’s 61/1 after the powerplay.
Spin now
Anukul Roy comes into the attack now. It’s an excellent over as only three runs come from it. RCB 46/1 after 5.
Harshit the one for future?
Somehow, Harshit has been brilliant so far. It’s in total contrast of what Starc has managed. And as we say this, Green ends the over with a four. RCB 43/1 after 4.
Kohli is punishing Starc
Starc returns for another over and is greeted with a six by Kohli. Next ball, the batsman edges one, as the ball races to the boundary. And now Green edges one for four. It’s 34/1 after 3 overs.
Harshit Rana starts
From the other end, it is last matchs’ hero Harshit, who starts from the other end. In a short IPL career, he has been impressive. And he is bowling over 140 kmph for now. And what sort a scoop has Faf played. The ball has gone for a six. But on the very next ball, Faf goes for the same shot and is out. RCB 17/1 after 2.
Virat off the mark
Most expensive starts with a loosener as Virat gets a four through the fourth slip area. Okay Starc makes a decent comeback in the over. RCB 7/0 after 1.
Faf says..
It’s a fresh wicket, looks a good wicket, you have to see how it plays in the first innings. It’s important to close games early in the season. All the great crickets adapt, it’s important to assess the conditions.

KKR win the toss
And here we go. KKR has won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Iyer says..
We are going to bowl first. I Had a brief chat with the curator, she was like the ball will spin as well. (Morale) It is fantastic, everyone is in high spirits. We have to carry forward the same momentum. It is important to be in the present. My role is to play an anchor role. It’s always good to have a lethal bowling line-up. It is important to stay in the present.
