Nick Kyrgios writes heartfelt message to Naomi Osaka ahead of Japanese’s comeback

Nick Kyrgios shared a heartfelt message to Naomi Osaka, telling the Japanese tennis star he is rooting for her and that she can turn to his team in case she ever needs help. Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, announced the birth of her first child in July and she is set to play again after not taking part in any tournaments this year.

Since giving birth, 26-year-old Osaka has said a couple of times that her daughter Shai will be a big motivation for her to go out there and do great things. “The best part of journey is realising that we can all learn something from someone.

Kyrgios thinks very highly of Osaka

In 2022 March, Kyrgios and Osaka practiced together in Los Angeles.

After the practice, Osaka said she was impressed by Kyrgios’ serve and admitted that she was trying to analyze the moves the Australian makes during his service motion. A couple of months later, Kyrgios went to Japan for an ATP 500 event in Tokyo.

In Tokyo, Kyrgios was asked to share his opinion about Osaka. “Naomi, I love what she brings to the sport. I think she’s an amazing athlete. She can play some great tennis, but what she can do off the court is even more inspirational.

She has so many people looking up to her. She inspires millions of people and I think that’s something that I bring, as well,” Kyrgios told the Japan Open website when in Tokyo last year. Meanwhile, Osaka’s 2024 comeback will start in the first week of the new season at the Brisbane International. On the other side, Kyrgios has yet to confirm any events for 2024.
