Serena Williams made a powerful mental health message on Tuesday, revealing that she wasn’t feeling fine and telling everyone that there is nothing bad in that as there is always another day. Williams, 42, is one of the greatest athletes in sports history and she has accomplished a lot in life.
But even someone like Williams can have a bad day. By opening up about one of her own bad days, Williams showed her fans and other people that there is nothing bad in feeling bad on some days. “I am not ok today. And that’s ok to not be ok.
No one is ok every single day. If you are not ok today I’m with you. There’s always tomorrow. Love you,” Williams wrote on X this week.

In another post, Williams shared a selfie with her daughter Adira River, who was born in August. “This makes me so happy,” Williams captioned her post.

Williams on her mental health
Last year, Williams had a conversation with American music giant Selena Gomez.
During their conversation, Williams also opened up about her mental health journey. “You know I did this years ago before mental health was even a topic among everyone’s mind. It was more just like, all right, I’m shutting myself down today.
Just subconsciously, it was something I’ve always done. So now that I know that it’s this important to put yourself first, especially mentally, I always have shut down moments. I have serious boundaries and I don’t let anyone cross those boundaries.
I really don’t do anything for myself, I’m terrible at that. And I’ve said it repeatedly—I’m working on it. But more or less, at least prioritizing what I need to do,” Williams said during a conversation with Gomez last year.
Since retiring from pro tennis, Williams has been focused on her family and business. In August, Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian welcomed their second child.
