Sergio Garcia, statements
The court is investigating whether there was any corporate crime in the transaction of land in the famous Coma golf course, under the management of Golf del Mediterráneo, located in the picturesque town of Borriol (Castellón).
This day of the week, the athlete testified, after having excused his absence on October 19, since he was in an international golf competition in the United States, as confirmed by his father. Two partners and joint liquidators of the company Golf del Mediterráneo SA filed the initial complaint in 2016 against the company Golf Borriol SL, directed by Carlos Fabra and his board of directors, for the sale of land and the transfer of the commercial operation.
The plaintiffs alleged alleged irregularities committed by nine other partners of the company, including Carlos Fabra. As a result, preliminary investigation proceedings were initiated for an alleged corporate crime. In 2017, the court temporarily suspended the investigation, and the Provincial Court confirmed the suspension.
However, after the appearance of new evidence (a police report), the Prosecutor’s Office requested a reevaluation of the case, which was accepted. Currently, the case continues with the testimony of the defendants. Sergio García Fernández is a Spanish golfer.
He is nicknamed El Niño. A professional since 1999, he is a member of the PGA Tour and the European Tour. After his victory at the HSBC Champions in 2008 he reached the position of No. 2 in the world behind Tiger Woods, and is currently No. 128 in the world.
