Vanderbilt coach Scott Brown explained: “What a weekend. This is what college tennis is about.
We had two road matches, both 4-3, and both came down to the wire. That’s why we train and prepare for matches like these. I want to give credit to both Adam Steinberg at Florida and Josh Goffi at South Carolina, they are both world class coaches running world class programs.
I’m really proud of our guys today
. They’re getting tougher and tougher with every game and I’m not shocked from the fact that they got a 4-3 today after losing a 4-3 on Friday. They’ve been consistent all week and we had a really fantastic training session yesterday, fine-tuning things from the previous game against Florida.
This was a team win, and the whole weekend was about the guys coming together and fighting for each other out there
. I also want to praise Hugo Coquelin. When it comes to the yarn, I love having it out there. He lost the clincher on Friday against Florida, but today just shows how he always comes back and fights.
We will stay focused, stay present and prepare for LSU on Friday and Senior Day, as well as our final home game against Georgia on Sunday”.
